My name is Aaron Kyro and I have been skateboarding and making videos for the last 17 years of my life. The concept and name Braille is a play on words and comes from the expression “I’m feeling it!” Skateboarding is always the best and most fun when you are skating your best and in other words… “Feeling It” hence the name and the overall feel and purpose of the site.
I started BrailleSkateboarding.com in 2007 when I first saw friends of mine and people in the industry working really hard to make awesome skateboard videos and then having a hard time marketing and selling the videos through local shops and on the internet. I wanted to allow a way for them to be able to sell an unlimited amount of videos without having to deal with expensive DVD reproduction and ground mail distribution. So BrailleSkateboarding.com started offering some of the first ever Skateboard digital video downloads for ipods, computers, and other devices at the time. I began working working together with Skateboard video makers to provide there projects to as many different people as possible. This was and is the original purpose and mission statement of BrailleSkateboarding.com.
Over the several years between 2007 and now many changes have taken place. At one point I lost the domain brailleskateboarding.com to an online spammer who bought the domain name from under me upon a renewal process in which I didn’t pay for the name renewal in time. Since I no longer owned the domain I gave up on the Digital Video Distribution side of things and began AcademyofSkateboarding.com to help kids learn how to skateboard and provide skateboard lessons in my local area. Several months later the online spammer did not renew Brailleskateboarding.com and so I jumped on the opportunity and bought it back from underneath him and began creating BrailleSkateboarding.com again. I stopped Academy of Skateboarding and just combined the two sites into Braille including all of my online videos on the Braille site. I provide content not only to help any one who is willing to learn how to skateboard to improve their skills but also assisting skateboard video makers around the world in marketing and selling there videos. BrailleSkateboarding.com features a platform for skateboarders to get hard to find videos that they could not go into there local shop and buy as well as learn to skateboard videos and advice to impove anyones overall skateboarding skills.
I wanted to give you a brief history of Braille, answer any questions that you have, and let you know that I am a long time skateboarder and am here to provide the best skateboarding content to skateboarders around the world. Feel free to email me at aaronkyro@gmail.com if you have any questions and if you are a Skateboard video maker who would like to submit your skateboard film for sale on Braille email me!

hey, i was wondering if you sell skateboards because i have a pretty crappy skateboard with a lot of parts put together on it and i dont like it because im a size 9 in shoes and it is about 7.75 size skateboard and the tail of the board is incredibly small compared to your and i have been getting mad because i want a real skateboard from a real company and if you have a skateboard you dont use and is great or new and if you have just a skateboard that you dont mind giving, could i please have it because i dont think my board is good for learning….. please
can you do a video on how to ollie while you are doing a manual? i can never seem to get the concept of getting the board off the ground while im doing a manual.
Hey I quit skateboarding 3 years ago. I realized I loved skateboarding so im starting again. But anyways all my skateboards are all crap now and I forgot what size to get. I wear 10-10.5 shoe size and will eventually mostly do fliptricks so what is a good size to start skating.

Hey man can you help me out on the kickflip. Everytime I do it I always land my back foot on the board and my front foot next to the board. I would really appreciate it if you could give me some tips and/or help
With out seeing a video of your best attempt that you could film with a video camera or any iphone or smart phone and then upload to youtube and send to me I can only guess. I would bet that you are flicking your toe down on the board and not up causing your front foot to hit the ground before the board. What I suggest is for you to break down each step of the trick as is done in my video and practicing only the step of flicking the board and thats where your sliding your foot up and do it exactly how its done in the video. If that is too difficult take it to an easier trick the ollie or pop shove and really master that first then come back. A good ollie is in fact part of the kickflip and the most crucial part sliding your foot up for that flick! Thanks and come back more videos arriving soon!
